In nature, it’s formed through UV rays or following the release of electrical discharges during storms.
Ozone is unstable and easily reverts to a simpler form of oxygen (O2).
Thanks to its oxidising power, it is often used to clean air, water and surfaces in general, and to sanitize and remove odours from a given environment, among countless other uses.
Due to its instability, this gas molecule must be produced in the same environment that is to be treated and immediately used. It cannot be stored or transported.
Its decay time varies according to the environmental temperature, humidity, and chemical and biological contamination, and is always a function of use concentrations.
There are specific generators that make it possible to convert the O2 present in the air into O3, using technology based on a high-voltage transformer and a custom-made tube or plate.
